Shooting weddings as a second photographer, building my portfolio of wedding photography, before I start photographing weddings in 2019 both in the UK or destination photography.
A wedding photographer, often likes having a second photographer for the day as it means you can cover preparations of both the bide and groom. The second photographer will take direction from the lead photographer, by following his or her background brief. Prefering a non instusive style, the second photographer should be able to blend in to the wedding party, but still capturing the wedding day story.
Having a lead and second photographer means you could both shoot different styles or genres of wedding photography. The lead could be more formal, doing the formal family shots and bridal portraits, where as the second photographer can have a more documentary style capturing a more natural photograph by interacting with the wedding group.
I shoot wtih documentary, candid or reportage style of photography, pretty much the same thing. Storytelling the events of the day as they unfold. Preferring a more easy approach, blending into the crowd and photographing without you really knowing they're there.
