A London wedding rarely stays in one place. A register office ceremony might be followed by a cab across town, then a reception in a completely different part of the city.

That movement is part of the story, not just logistics to work around. I film the transitions as well as the set pieces — the walk out of the town hall, the journey between venues — so the day feels connected from start to finish.

It’s a different rhythm to a single-venue countryside wedding, and the film reflects that pace rather than smoothing it out.

Catching moments as they happen

I film what’s actually happening rather than asking anyone to repeat a moment for the camera. If a reaction or a look is missed, it stays missed — recreating it would make it fiction, not memory.

The order of the finished film follows the real order of the day. Quiet, unremarkable moments sit alongside the big ones, because that’s closer to how the day actually felt.

The city’s own sound and light

London venues bring their own technical challenges. Traffic outside a town hall, a crowded pavement between locations, or a warehouse with almost no natural light all need a different approach to a quiet countryside marquee.

I adjust for each one rather than using a single fixed setup. Sound is recorded live wherever I can get close enough — vows, speeches, the noise of the room — because that’s what actually gives a wedding film its atmosphere.

I plan around each location’s own conditions — getting close enough for clean audio, working with low light rather than fighting it. Every London venue needs a slightly different approach.

I’m based in Oxford and travel into London regularly for weddings. Coverage is planned around your venue and timings, so there’s nothing you need to organise differently on your end.
