Terms and Conditions

This page sets out the terms that apply when you book wedding photography or film with me, Peter Haken.

These are the terms that apply when you book wedding photography or film with me, Peter Haken, trading as Peter Haken Wedding Photography and Films.

The agreement.

Our agreement begins once your booking fee is cleared and the contract is signed. This is a binding commitment between us. By booking, you’re agreeing to a documentary style of coverage, as described on this site.

Booking fee and payment.

A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date. This fee covers the cost of holding the date and means I turn down other bookings for that day. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding. If the balance isn’t paid by then, it’s treated as a breach of this agreement.

Creative approach.

I work documentary-style, which means I’m photographing and filming things as they actually happen. I’ll take specific requests into account, but the final selection of images and the edit are down to my judgement, and the finished work will be consistent with the style shown in my portfolio.

Being the photographer on the day.

To maintain the quality and consistency of your coverage, I’m the only professional photographer at the wedding, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing. You’re responsible for making sure I have the access and time I need to do the job properly.

Delivery.

Your gallery is delivered through a secure online link. Any timelines I give you are estimates and can shift depending on the complexity of the edit. Unless we’ve agreed a separate privacy arrangement in writing before the wedding, I may use images and film from your day for promotional and portfolio purposes, including on this website and social media.

Cancellation and rescheduling.

If you cancel, the booking fee isn’t refunded. If you cancel within 60 days of the wedding, the remaining balance is still due in full. If you need to move your date, I’ll try to accommodate the new one, though a new booking fee may be needed to secure it.

Liability.

In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend, or coverage is lost, due to circumstances beyond my control, my liability is limited to a full refund of what you’ve paid. I’m not responsible for data loss caused by things outside my control, such as hardware failure or external interference.
