Geography changes the feeling of a wedding. Hard light, coastal weather, old city streets, mountain roads and private villas all leave a mark on the photographs.
However, the approach stays the same. I work quietly, watch closely and photograph the day as it actually happens.
Because I only take on selected destination weddings, the fit matters. The setting, people and rhythm of the day all need to suit the way I work.
WHERE I TRAVEL
I am based in Oxford and available for selected destination weddings across the UK, Europe and further afield.
Destination weddings can easily become over-produced. Beautiful locations, travel plans and styled details all matter, but the real value is still in the people. The nervous energy before the ceremony. The family who have travelled a long way. The heat, the movement, the speeches, the late-night chaos and the small moments that happen away from the main view.
I work with a documentary approach, so the day is not slowed down or turned into a staged shoot. I look for atmosphere, emotion and honest connection, with a little direction only when it helps.
The location gives the photographs texture. The people give them meaning.
PLANNING A CELEBRATION AWAY?
If you are looking for a destination wedding photographer with a documentary style, send me your date, location and a few details about the day.
I will let you know if the wedding fits my coverage and what travel would involve.
