Burford has a different pace to many wedding locations. It is elegant, grounded and properly Cotswold, without feeling too polished.
The Bay Tree suited that feeling. Old stone, low winter light, quiet rooms and mullioned windows gave the wedding a strong sense of place before anything needed to be staged.
Because of that, the photography could stay simple. I worked quietly, followed the rhythm of the day and looked for the real moments between people.
COTSWOLD ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT THE PERFORMANCE
This was an intimate wedding, but it did not feel small. The day had weight: family, conversation, winter light, quiet pressure and the natural looseness that comes once the formal parts are done.
For documentary wedding photography, that balance matters. The aim is not to turn the wedding into a styled shoot. Instead, the photographs should hold the place, the people and the feeling of the day as it actually happened.
No staged version. No forced performance. Just honest wedding photography with atmosphere, restraint and soul.
